What's it like to be an Executive Assistant?
An Executive Assistant performs high-level administrative tasks to support the work of senior team members in an organisation. Their duties can include scheduling, organising meetings, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and in some cases, managing projects or supervising other members of staff. Executive Assistants can be a key point of contact within the executive office and sometimes handle sensitive and confidential information. The role often demands experience in administrative roles and advanced knowledge in office software and tools.
Tasks and duties
- Managing day-to-day operations of the office and supporting senior executives in their duties.
- Coordinating communications, including receiving calls, responding to emails and handling company enquiries.
- Organising meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders and organising catering when necessary.
- Contributing to presentations by conducting research and preparing documents.
- Making travel arrangements for executives, including booking hotels, flights and ground transport.
